Lily Warne was known to make mittens for the Dartmoor post & telegram deliverers. I have knitted these, my own take on these in stripes with a thumb covering but still opening and an opening for the hands for full usage.

Using predominantly granite grey chose from Devon Green, Bovey Blue, Widecombe Wine or Blag’s Black.

Dartmoor wool from Dartmoor Sheep durable mittens to last a lifetime.
